Division of Workforce Development is seeking an adjunct instructor for our Regional Warehouse & Distribution Training Facility in Franklin, VA. This person will help deliver high-quality experiential training programs. These will include warehouse and distribution, supply chain and logistics, and material moving operations (forklift and other equipment). Work in close collaboration with the Director of Workforce Development, partners, and employers to coordinate and recruit for training programs. This will require travel and outreach as needed. This position will work up to 20-hours per week during coordination and more hours during instructional periods as needed.
The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience, and education in the subject area of the warehouse, distribution, logistics, supply chain, forklift, or operations management, and a history of successful teaching or related supervisory experience. Must be safety conscious as students will be operating equipment in a warehouse environment. Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, professionalism, as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds. Instructional periods (classes) may occur during the evenings to accommodate working students. Must be able to obtain the Certified Logistics Associate and Certified Logistics Technician and Forklift Train-the-Trainer credentials within 60 days of hire.
Previous experience developing and teaching programs relating to warehouse and distribution, logistics, or supply chain management. Ability to identify the equipment and supplies needed for hands-on training in a warehouse facility. Experience marketing training programs. Certified Logistics Associate and/or Technician preferred. Forklift train-the-trainer preferred.
